Mr. Banerjee has been employed with the World Bank since 1975 in the transport, water, urban, tourism and energy sectors in more than 25 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Latin America. The main focus of his work has been in the financial, institutional and organizational development of transport, water supply, urban tourism and energy sectors and in the enhancement of the private sector's role in these sectors. He served in two World Bank field offices (Nairobi, Kenya and Dhaka, Bangladesh) and in both of these positions managed large teams of international and local staff. In recent years, he has used his extensive operational experience to provide advice and guidance in all aspects of project preparation and implementation.

Mr. Banerjee is a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (1970), a Master of Engineering Administration (Finance major in 1972) and has completed all course work for a Doctorate in Economics (1975). |
